Writing Nepal 2015 Shortlist

After browsing through 100-plus entries on the slow train from Saigon to Hanoi, Writing Nepal judge Samrat Upadhyay has whittled us a sharp shortlist. Here are the lucky seven – Congratulations!

Abhishek Shrestha – Swansong

Pranaya Rana – In the hollow of your hands hides a heartbeat

Abha Niraula – The paarijats will bloom

Shreeansh Agrawal – Phantasm

Richa Pokhrel – The broken wings of an owl

Sumit Poudyal – Shashi Neupane decides

Jebin Gautam – Mirroring memories

Of course, we all know luck is the least of it. There’s talent and a whole lot of hard graft involved, and we’d like to thank all of you who submitted to Writing Nepal 2015. So come join Samrat Upadhyay and the La.Lit team to find out who the winners are, hear them read from their stories, and sip a cuppa while leafing through radical literature.

  2. a lot of fiction this year, becoming more interested in short stories. I was in the top 7 for this contest judged by Samrat Upadhyay. I have been entering different pieces to various literary publications.
