FAQ

What does La.lit mean?

Lalit signifies Beauty in Sanskrit, and La/Lit also stands for language and literature.

Can I submit my work to La.Lit for publication?

Yes. You can submit your work via editor@lalitmag.com, and an editor will get in touch. Submissions will be considered for www.lalitmag.com as well as for our print volumes, which come out twice a year. Please write to us if you need information on upcoming print volumes, as they are often on a certain theme. We also have a short story competition every two years, the winners of which are published online and in print. Please visit Submissions for further information.

How do I apply for a job at La.Lit?

Editors on the La.Lit team are volunteers, and we expect interns to also volunteer their time for art and literature while gaining a real insight into how the literary sector works in Nepal.  Depending on experience, you would help out either with outreach, marketing or events management.

Where is your office located?

La.Lit is hosted by Quixote’s Cove. Our office is currently in Ekantakuna, Lalitpur. Find us here:

How can I request a review copy of one of your volumes?

If you work in the media and would like to request a review copy please email editor@lalitmag.com stating the name of the publication or organisation you represent.

Where can I get a copy?

Orders for La.Lit magazines can be placed by writing to editor@lalitmag.com, or by visiting this link. If you are outside Nepal, you can place an order with Thuprai by emailing support@thuprai.com or sending a direct message on their Facebook or Instagram.
