Jebin Gautam’s ‘The Last Morning Rendezvous’, a story of a woman navigating a specious relationship, won first place in the fourth edition of Writing Nepal: A Short Story Contest. In a glimmering award ceremony at Hotel Shanker this afternoon, judge Samrat Upadhayay announced three winners, following a talk touching on the strengths of each of the eight short-listed stories. Excerpt from each story were read out to an audience eager to pose questions, stirred to curiosity by the panel discussion among the writers on the their story-telling disciplines and their inspirations.

We’d like to congratulate the winners, who are:

1st place: Jebin Gautam, with ‘The Last Morning Rendezvous’.

2nd place: the moniker (malashree) with ‘The Poet’s Daughter’.

3rd place: Neha Rayamajhi with ‘Lanka to Ayodhya’.
